Alicia Machado was born Yoseph Alicia Machado in Maracay Venezuela on 6 December 1976. Alicia is of a varied background with her father Spanish, and her mother is of Cuban descent. She's been a prominent actor in film, television and beauty contests all her existence. Machado's meteoric rise to fame was first noticed when she won the title of Miss Venezuela in 1995 at just 19 which was the name of her state Yaracuy. The following year she became four-time Venezuelan woman to win Miss Universe 1996. Her time in the role of Miss Universe was marred by public controversy and a negative press attention because of her weight gain during her reign. Donald Trump, who owned the Miss Universe Organization at the time, publicly ridiculed her regarding her weight gain calling her "Miss Piggy" and making her exercise before the press.
